The New Hampshire Music Teachers Association is proud to honor Dr. Carleen Graff with the NHMTA Lifetime Achievement Award—recognizing decades of extraordinary service to music education in our state. A pillar of our community, Dr. Graff has inspired generations of students and teachers through her leadership and mentorship, including her ongoing work with NHMTA’s Fall Festival.
Dr. Graff served on the faculty of Plymouth State University from 1973–2019 and continues to teach as a lecturer and private instructor. Her impact extends far beyond the studio: she founded PSU’s Piano Monster Concerts, the Piano Monster Festival, and the Contemporary Piano Festival, and has been recognized with the MTNA Master Teacher Certificate, the MTNA National Fellow Award (2015), and the Steinway Top Teacher Award (2017). NHMTA is grateful for Dr. Graff’s artistry, advocacy, and unwavering dedication to musical excellence across New Hampshire.
